Meet The Staff ...

Each and every one of our employees are friendly, willing and always ready to help our clients. We promise to treat each individual pet with the same care and compassion as if they were our own. At any time you have a question or comment, please do not hesitate to call and speak to a staff member. We are always glad to make time to listen to your needs and how we may serve you better.

Office Management ...

Jennifer Thomas started working as a receptionist at Whitworth Animal Clinic in June 1990. After two years, she trained to become a technician. She has also served as the office manager and in 2005 was given the opportunity to pursue more of the managerial side of the profession. Now, some of her duties involve organizing educational and motivational staff meetings, marketing, and making sure our staff provides the ultimate in client services and pet health care.

Our Technicians ...

Shivonne Smith is our lead technician. She has been working with us since 2001 and worked part time at the Animal Emergency Clinic of North Alabama for a while too. Her dedication is unsurpassed in making sure that our patients are provided the optimum preventive and medical care available while assuring our clients that their furry loved ones are going to be treated as if they are our own.

Emily Stinson is our technician assistant. She began as a volunteer in order to obtain experience in the veterinary field. She is currently in her senior year at Bob Jones High School. Emily has been awarded a scholarship at Mississippi State University where she plans to pursue her career in veterinary medicine.

JoAnna Chandler, LVT joined our staff in May 2006. She is a licensed technician and received her degree from Snead State Community College in central Alabama in 2004. She worked at several veterinary clinics while in school, giving her a wide range of experience over the last 4 years. She moved to this area from central Alabama and is also a new bride. She will make sure that your pet receives the optimum preventive and medical health care possible while in our care.

Our Receptionists ...

Our lead receptionist is Joey Byrd. Coming to us with 3 years of veterinary reception experience, She joined our crew in 2003. She is committed to making sure that our client services are operating at the highest attainable level. Her knowledge in technological skills is essential for our clinic to operate with the most modern options available.

Kindness and compassion are two outstanding attributes that describe Abby Roddie. She joined us in 2004 after deciding she wanted a change of pace from retail. Her concern is made obvious by the way she assures clients that their pet is going to receive the optimum health care available.

Delynn Martin is the most recent member to join our team. She came aboard in September 2005 with a number of years experience in customer service relations. She strives to reach above and beyond what is expected from the services we offer to assure all of our clients how important they are to us.

The Kennel Attendants ...

Teri Pitta became our kennel manager in September 2005. Having brought 2 years of experience with her, She is very conscientious of the pets while they are in her care. She is diligent in following instructions concerning medication, feeding, and any other special needs. She will do everything possible to make sure your pet is as content as possible while away from home.

Shannon Mc Kinney recently joined our staff as a kennel attendant. She has 2 years experience in a professional setting, but having been raised on a farm takes her level of animal care much farther. Her passion for animals is made obvious because she has 8 pets herself. She is dedicated to making sure that all pets are treated and taken care of as if they were one of her own.
